“Facebook is a right and not a privilege”
The Facebook story just keeps getting better. Remember that old chant “education is a right and not a privilege”? Well, last week’s report in the FT from the Trades Union Congress had echoes of it, flaggingup that the TUC were seriously suggesting companies should ‘consider allowing staff to use sites such as Facebook during breaks at work’ following the decision by many firms to ban social networking. Sure, every firm should have an ‘internet use’ policy just as it should a ‘phone use’ policy, but this does feel a little out of control.
